Treeplanting

For the last 3 years, MOWAA has held an annual tree planting which brings together creatives, civic leaders, students, healthcare workers and youth groups from across Benin City.
Our 2025 Community Tree Planting initiative brought together over 200 participants from across Benin for five days of collaborative environmental action. In total, over 2,000 indigenous trees have been planted.
Working alongside Edo State Parks and Agency and the National Institute of Landscape Horticulturists of Nigeria, we have planted trees across the MOWAA Campus and Ogbe Community while documenting the oral histories and folklore connected to Benin’s indigenous tree species.
